Could I be that old???

OK, so I am so behind already just after posting one and only blog! Is this just a glimpse at the trend to come. I seem to not have any time away to "play" on the computer. If the kids are not demanding of something...Manny is! He has started hating the laptop...I try to tell him that he is just jealous of the fact that I might have friends and he is just a lonely old man! ;) Anyways, last month my "baby" turned 14! For the first time ever, Manny missed a bday with one of the kids. He has always been in town for them, but this year his work in KS fell on Eric's day! :( We just celebrated the night before, but it was still not the same. Anyways, we had to "settle" on doing his bday with people like my sister, Kristi. She begged to come and for me to pay for her meal! Gah Kris, have you no shame! Anyhoo...we had a lovely dinner with my parents, the boys, Moocher, I mean Kristi and sweet Olivia. It kills me that Eric is going into high school! How do I have a child that old already??? Must have been that pregnancy at 13...;)
One of Eric's favorite gifts...a new drum throne. He is a drummer and loves it! Little does he know that the seat was custom molded to my butt so I could double it as my bike cushion...hey, a girl's got to be frugal!
This is how I have to give my "baby" sugars now...on my tip toes and I am 5'9"!!!
Aunt Kristi and Papa giving the bday spankin'! Eric was thrilled...

She's a classy one, that Kristi...I kept trying to tell her she had something in her teeth, but she couldn't find it.More sugars for the birthday boy...

the lil' bros entertained themselves with fangs, I mean chopsticks...

Good job Becky. Nice to see a new post. See, that's exactly why I don't blog. The pressure would be too great. Love the picture of you kissing Eric. That's so sweet!

Finally a new Blog, you almost lost your one and only international following, but you made it up with the hilarity that you so aptly wove in and out of your blog!

Good to see that Eric got the birthday spanking too, it must be an American thing, in NZ, you could get arrested for it (It might seem I'm joking, but I'm not, it's madness!)

Glad to see that you're back on the blogging wagon, give that boy a Kiwi greeting from me - a hongi - ask Olivia how it goes.

I feel so inadequate to blog! ha! Fiwi-what the heck is a hongi? Sounds like a sandwich! :)

As I said, ask Olivia - hopefully she'll remember. It's the traditional Maori greeting (the native people of NZ) It's where you press your nose against another (not a peck of the nose) foreheads touch, Maori's say that it is sharing one's "life breath" with another - there you go, cultural tip for the day. Next time you see Olivia, put your face in front of hers hers, and say "Olivia, give me a hongi" pronounced HONGEE hopefully she'll remember!

Another tip, do not pronounce it as hon geee, the n+g come together, like the sound of the ng when the word ends in ing...it would be so much easier to explain in person! Got an extra couple of grand to bring me over for your cultural lessons?

OK, I knew this would happen. You would use this blog to post embarrassing pictures of me. I couldn't help it if I had something stuck in my teeth. Hasn't that happened to any of you? I GET NO RESPECT IN MY FAMILY!!!!!!!!

KIWI - I have got to get your T-shirt in the mail. I don't know what is wrong with me and the whole mailing overseas thing.

I have a package for you too - Becky, there's a little something in the package for you too. It's been sitting in my room ready to go for months, but the postage price is pricy, so I have to save up my meagre income....do I hear the violins playing?

Fiwi-you will love to hear, Olivia gave me a HONGEE and knew exactly what to do! She is so stinkin' cute! You have broadened her view of the world by teaching her the culture from the other side of the globe! :)

That is brilliant! I'm so thrilled that the wee poppet remembered just what to do. Imagine what I could get her to do if only I had more time to influence, er I mean encourage her?

BTW, Kristi and Becky, I sent the package today to you. Becky, there's a lil somthin somethin in there for you, it's in a bag that has "too cheap" on the front, I thought I it was fitting, but that's not all, no, no, it's what's inside the bag that will bring you joyous pleasure. Make sure you hound Kristi to give over your share when it arrives :-)
